KIND-hearted fundraisers pulled on their walking boots to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

A sponsored walk took place in Dudley on Saturday, organised by Samantha Carrier, who was eager to raise cash for the charity as her daughter Daisy has cystic fibrosis.

The mum-of-two was also keen to raise awareness about the incurable condition that affects the lung and pancreas, ultimately shortening the life expectancy of sufferers.

She was joined by 10 people, including the Victorian Westerners re-enactment group, for the trek from Coronation Gardens to the town's fire station in Burton Road before heading back to The Full Moon pub in High Street.

The Wetherspoons pub, where Samantha works, offered a 20 per cent discount on food for everyone who took part and there was also a magician, face painting, a cake sale and much more for families to enjoy.

Samantha said: "We raised around £400 but I'm still waiting on final figure. It went extremely well. The pub was very busy with lots of support for our cause.

"It was a brilliant turnout. The children really enjoyed it, Daisy was especially enjoying the cakes!"
