SOUTH Pacific will be sailing into Sedgley next week.
Set in an island paradise during World War II, a budding romance is threatened by the dangers of prejudice and war.
Nellie, a nurse from Arkansas, falls in love with a mature French planter, Emile but when she learns that the mother of his children was an island native, she rejects his marriage proposal, unable to turn her back on the prejudices with which she was raised.
But when Emile is recruited to join Lieutenant Joe Cable on a dangerous mission, Nellie realises that life its too short and conquers her prejudices to seize happiness.
West Bromwich Operatic Society will bring the story to life at The Dormston Mill Theatre from September 27-30.
The show starts at 7.30pm and there will be a 2.30pm matinee performance on Saturday.
