POLICE have arrested an armed man who was brandishing a knife in a Blackheath supermarket.
Officers were called to Sainsbury's at around 12.10pm following reports that the offender was carrying a knife.
Following a search of the area, a man was found and has been arrested.
The area was evacuated and Halesowen Street, John Street and Union Street were closed and remain shut.
A police spokesman said there have been no reported injuries.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area while investigations continue.
