SIX students at Halesowen College have won an Access to Higher Education Learner Award for their outstanding achievement.

The College was only allowed to make six nominations to the Open College Network West Midlands but were successful in all of them.

The following students have been given a £500 award:

*Rebecca Davies - Outstanding Commitment to Study (Science)

*Angela Grubham - Outstanding Academic Achievement (Health)

*Kellor Cannon - Outstanding Academic Achievement (Humanities)

*Habibe Cahani - Outstanding Commitment to Study (Education)

*Sandeep Sumel - Outstanding Commitment to Study (Social Science)

*Richard Walter - Outstanding Academic Achievement (Social Science)

All six are adult students on the College's Access Course which leads to higher education courses at University.

They have all been invited to attend an awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 14 at Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton.

Hilary Gardner, from Halesowen College, said: "We are absolutely delighted that all six of our learners have been successful in getting this prestigious award. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and determination."

Halesowen College will hold adult open evenings on Thursday, June 8 and Thursday, July 13 from 5-8pm at the Whittingham Road campus. People will have the opportunity to discuss and enrol on Adult courses for September 2017.
