FIRE crews from Brierley Hill are warning people to take care in wet weather after attending a serious road crash in Kingswinford last night (Sunday January 15).

Firefighters from green and orange watch attended the two-car smash yesterday evening which left part of Market Street closed to traffic while crews worked to cut free a woman trapped in the wreckage.

It is not clear how the crash happened but firefighters took to Twitter tonight (Monday January 16) to warn motorists to “stay safe in the wet weather”.

The woman, a 53-year-old who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was treated for an abdominal injury and taken to Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley.

A 54-year-old man, the driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to Russells Hall Hospital with a shoulder injury.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said paramedics were called out to the incident at 6.30pm.

West Midlands Police also attended.
