TWO young Black Country men have been locked up for a total of seven years for selling heroin and crack cocaine on the streets.

Zamir Hussain and Hanif Ardil, who were caught dealing in the Kingswinford area, worked as a team in what Judge Michael Challinor described as a "quite sophisticated and well set-up operation”.

He told the two men: "You did not care what happened to the people you were selling drugs to.

"You had no regard for anyone but yourselves and all you were interested in was making money out of this vile trade."

Hussain, aged 23, of Tividale Road, Oldbury, admitted possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and he was put behind bars for three years.

Ardil, aged 20, of Tividale Road, Dudley, denied possessing the Class A drugs with intent to supply and also possessing a small quantity of cannabis but he was found guilty by a jury at the end of his trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court and was sent to a Young Offenders Institution for four years.

The judge said it was clear Hussain was the driver who had the drugs while Ardil had two mobile telephones including one that rang continually with calls from people wanting drugs.

He said: "You were trafficking in hard drugs that cause immense danger to the community and are at the root of a lot of crime. You were acting as a team giving comfort to each other."

He told Ardil he had opted to take the case against him to trial and concluded: "You lied your head off to the members of the jury."
