THE Postmaster for Clee Hill has resigned.

To maintain vital Post Office from January, a mobile Post Office van service will be introduced as a temporary solution.

Clee Hill Post Office has been operated from a temporary postmaster at 23 High Street, Clee Hill, since the contract with the former postmaster ended over five years ago.

From January 2018 the temporary postmaster is unable to continue to operate the service and the premises will cease to be available for Post Office use. Consequently, the branch will then close.

The postmaster from Cleobury North, who currently operates a mobile Post Office service in the area, has agreed to add Clee Hill to the route.

From January the mobile Post Office van service will operate the service three days a week on Monday 12.30 – 2pm; Wednesday 2.15 – 3.45pm and Thursday 12 noon – 2pm.

Clee Hill Village Hall car park is where the Post Office mobile van service will visit as there is convenient parking.

“Unfortunately there are currently no other retailers in the village interested in the opportunity and therefore as an interim solution to maintain a service to our customers, whilst we continue to seek a long term permanent solution, we will be introducing a temporary Mobile service in Clee Hill following the closure of the branch at the current location,” said Karen Coles, Network Operations Manager for the Post Office.

The date the current branch will close and the new temporary Mobile service will commence are currently being finalised and will be confirmed in due course.
