Back in April 1983, Bob and Thelma Holroyd and their regulars at the Rose and Crown Inn in Burford made what had become a regular contribution to charity. Their annual harvest festival, which had been established for four years, handed over a cheque for £556.27 to Dr R T Taylor of the St John's Hospital, part of the Droitwich Centre for Rheumatic Diseases. Dr Taylor said that such donations were gratefully recieved as, like other parts of the NHS, the hospital was feeling the pinch of continuing public service financial restraints.
