BACK in February 1983, three 17-year-old ATC cadets from Ludlow's 333 squadron gained their gliding wings.
It was the first time that the squadron had three cadets pass at the same time. on the left is Sgt Philip Dawson from Bromfield, who qualified in a Seeburg glider.
In the centre is Cpl Simon Rowlands of Ludlow who qualified in a Venture powered glider and on the right is Cpl Peter Cole of Ashford who qualified in a Mark III. They had all been in the corps for four years.
After qualifying for their wings at RAF Syerston Central Gliding School, each had one solo flight.
