A HUNDRED years after the first tank battle took place in France ex-members who served in the Royal Tank Regiment gathered in Hereford.
The reunion took place at the Three Counties Hotel on November 20- exactly 100 years after the Tank Corps fought so bravely at the Battle of Cambrai in France.
The Tank Corps provided 476 tanks- of which 350 were armed to lead six infantry divisions into the field. The battle lasted until December 6, 1917.
At the reunion event two ferret scout cars were present at the entrance to the hotel to welcome guests as they arrived.
On Sunday a wreath was laid at the war memorial in St Peters Square Hereford in honour of the men of the Tank Corps who fought so bravely at the Battle of Cambrai.
