A BUILDING development to include affordable homes and bungalows has been approved by councillors.

Plans for 15 homes including five affordable homes, five bungalows and two live work units on land between Garbrook and Little Tarrington were approved by Herefordshire Council's planning committee on Wednesday.

Proposals also include a financial contribution for a traffic order to extend the 30 miles per hour limit on the A438. Also an improved junction linking the housing development to the main road and a footpath linking the site with a nearby bus stop.

Russell Pryce, applicant, said that the proposals were for a modern interpretation of a farm with out buildings and energy efficient panels. He added that the developers had been heartened by the support from local community and the area's parish council.

Local councillor John Hardwick said that the improved junction would also make it safer for people using a nearby campsite.

Councillor Polly Andrews praised the building of bungalows and said that these would be 'sold very rapidly'.

Councillors all voted in favour of approving the plans.
