A FITNESS instructor is asking for your votes to help her win an award.

Laura Lowe from Hereford has been nominated for FitSteps Community Instructor of the Year.

In March 2013, former Strictly Professional dancers Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite, with help from former Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, launched a dance fitness programme called FitSteps, teaching class members the graceful movements from ballroom dancing as well as the uptempo Latin dances.

This year they launched a campaign to find the FitSteps Community Instructor of the Year and asked for nominations - over 170 instructors were nominated and of these a shortlist was created and voting is now open nationwide for the regional finalists.

Laura is asking the people of Hereford to vote for her as she thinks it will be an amazing achievement for a girl from Hereford to win the accolade.

She said: “I adore travelling the county and seeing the joy that FitSteps brings to people, it really does change people’s lives, and I love being a part of so many happy stories. I’m absolutely over the moon to be nominated for this award and I genuinely owe it to everyone I teach, as they are the reason I love my job so much”

The awards will be presented at a celebration in Birmingham on December 3.
