A HAND-painted poster served as a reminder for schoolchildren and drivers of the Battle of the Somme.
Much Birch residents Keith and Krystyna James, who live in Tump Lane, got up early to place the poster at the Millennium Green in the village, next to the A49.
It marked the start of the First World War battle 100 years on and reminded children crossing the A49 to Much Birch C of E Primary School.
