DROP-IN advice sessions have been organised by Herefordshire Council for local residents who are seeking possible funding for community projects.

These sessions will be take place at libraries across Herefordshire during September and October.

The first one will be at Ledbury Library on Tuesday, September 15, from 10am to 1pm.

Another session will take place at Bromyard Library on Thursday, September 17, from 10am to 1pm.

A council spokesman said: "If you have a project idea that will benefit the wider community, but don’t where to start or what funding might be available then we can help. The drop-in sessions are free and you don’t need to make an appointment, just come along."

Councillor Graham Powell, cabinet member for economy and corporate services said, “Many people aren’t aware that funding is available from a wide range of sources to support a wealth of community initiatives.

"Funding can support existing community groups with things like equipment and building improvements and there is also funding for new initiatives."

He added: "If you have an idea and want to do something positive in your neighbourhood come and speak to us. It could be a project connected to sport, heritage or the arts. Have a chat with the team who can advise and signpost you to funding sources to get that bright idea off the ground.”
