READERS have been sending in pictures following last night's high winds across the region - a weather pattern which is set to continue throughout today, before winds gradually ease tonight.

Emergency services were called out twice overnight to incidents caused by the strong winds.

Fire crews attended a property in Pontrilas at around 1.38am this morning to remove panels from the roof of a perspex consevatory which had become loose in the wind.

They were also called to the A49 at Harewood End at around 2.30am after a branch fell onto a BT cable. The incident was left with the Highways Agency.
