THE Job Centre is to move into Ross-on-Wye Library to create an "improved community hub".

Work on the building will start on Monday, April 28, with most of it being carried out on Wednesdays when it is closed to the public.

"The council welcomes the forthcoming changes at Ross Library and Customer Service Centre, which will provide an improved community hub for the benefit of the town," said Councillor Patricia Morgan, cabinet member for corporate services.

"It is important to stress that the changes won't affect the services provided, particularly the current library stock, but rather provide one convenient location for local public services and community facilities."

The Job Centre will move from its current home in George Place, off Gloucester Road, to the library on Monday, July 14.

The library and customer service centre will remain open for business during the work, while meetings will still be accommodated.
