A COTSWOLDS woman was regularly raped, assaulted and forced into prostitution by a man who held her prisoner in his flat, fed her only on pizza and chocolate, and made her take illegal drugs, a jury was told.

When her mum called the police, the woman was freed from 38-year-old Przemyslaw 'Mikey' Stojko’s flat in Gloucester – only to return there later and undergo the same kind of ordeal again, Gloucester Crown Court was told this week.

She was then liberated by the police for the second time following another call from her mother, said David Maunder, prosecuting.

When officers went to the flat on both occasions they found the alleged victim dazed, drugged, and black and blue with bruises, it was alleged.

Stojko, of Southgate Street, Gloucester, denies a total of eight charges of raping the woman, assaulting her causing actual bodily harm, witness intimidation and incitement to prostitution.

The woman comes from the Upper Rissington area and met Stojko when she went to Gloucester to buy cannabis from him, said Mr Maunder.

Her family became aware of her attachment to Stojko in December 2016. In February this year she showed her mum sexual images of herself which had been posted on her Facebook account. She was in skimpy clothes performing oral sex.

Mr Maunder said that at 10pm on May 11 police went to the defendant’s flat. They asked Stojko if the woman was there and she emerged from the bedroom ‘wearing just a pair of knickers, a small top, and with two black eyes. She looked thin and tearful.’ They saw she had bruises to her arms, legs and face. They asked if her ‘boyfriend’ had hit her and she nodded.

When Stojko was arrested he said the woman was a crack addict and had been clean while staying with him. He also claimed she had stabbed him and showed them marks on his neck and chest.

The woman alleged Stojko had hit her on the head with a hammer. Police saw marks on the top of her head.

“She went on to say she had been kept in the property against her will,” Mr Maunder said. “She disclosed she had taken drugs there but had not done so willingly. She said if she refused she would be beaten.

“She also said she’d had sex with the defendant but it was not always with her consent. She knew if she didn’t give in and have sex with him he would get aggressive and beat her. It was not nice sex, it was sex which left her in pain, she said.

“And she said she had eaten only chocolate and pizza there. She was fearful that if she tried to leave he would catch her and she would be beaten. When he went out he locked her in.

“She also said he had smashed her mobile phone up and he had videoed them having sex.

“She was taken to hospital. She had bruising to both eyes, a swollen jaw, and multiple bruises to arms, legs and breasts. An x-ray revealed fractures of the 5th and 6th ribs.

“She told the police she would score cannabis and amphetamines from him."

The woman also said he had ‘punched her more times than she could remember.’

Mr Maunder added: “Once she said she was in the shower when he hit her head with a hammer and on another occasion he poured boiling water over her.

“She said he had got her to do sexual things with other men and if she said no he started smashing things and hitting her. He had made sexual videos and taken photos of her which he had posted on Facebook. He had taken control of her Facebook account."

Mr Maunder said a blood sample taken from the girl that day was found to contain amphetamines, Ecstasy, cocaine and cannabis.

Stojka claimed the woman had come to him saying she wanted his help to stop her using crack cocaine and prostituting herself.

She had not taken drugs or alcohol on his premises because he kept her clean, he stated.

“He said they had sex every day and she always wanted to do it. He agreed they had videoed the sex but it was her who wanted to get into ‘adult work’ and he had not supported it.”

Mr Stojko was bailed but on 27th May the woman’s mum called police again and when officers went back to his flat that day they found her there again, apparently uninjured, and she was taken home, Mr Maunder said.

On June 18 the woman texted her mum saying ‘call the police and don’t reply.’

The mother immediately alerted the police and when officers arrived at Stojko’s flat they found the woman in ‘markedly deteriorated’ condition, said Mr Maunder.

“She was emaciated and had a bald patch on her head. She seemed traumatised. The defendant hugged her and told her not to say anything."

Whilst talking to police the girl received a text from adultworker.com. The officer suspected this meant she was involved in prostitution and she confirmed that was true – saying she did it at Stojko’s behest.

“She said the defendant was effectively acting as her pimp. On two occasions in the last week he had wanted her to have sex with other people and he told her the money would be hers but he would look after it. She said she’d had sex for money before and that it was Mikey who made her sign up for adultworker.com"

Stojko was interviewed again and denied the allegations, added Mr Maunder.

The trial continues.
