THE Midcounties Co-operative Food in Bourton-on-the-Water is helping shoppers get into the festive spirit early, with a Christmas feast bursting with local flavour.

On Thursday November 30, the store will be turned into a winter wonderland with a host of festive food and drink on offer.

Shoppers can enjoy a chef-prepared Christmas menu made up of The Midcounties Co-operative’s festive recipes, featuring smoked salmon beetroot Carpaccio, Adlington Farm Christmas turkey, and Christmas pudding infused with honey spiced rum from The British Honey Company. Accompanying wines that have been selected by the in-store wine expert will also be available to advise shoppers on seasonal food and wine pairings.

Shoppers can also take part in roasting chestnuts and enjoy a Christmas tipple from the pop-up Chase Distillery cocktail bar or a warming mug of Pearson’s Hot Mulled Cider, whilst being treated to carol-singing from the local choir.

Simon Hartland, district manager at The Midcounties Co-operative Food in Bourton-on-the-Water, said: “For many, the festive season is all about food, and the Christmas showcase is a great opportunity for customers to get together and taste our extensive range of locally-produced festive food and drink.

"As the countdown to Christmas Day begins, now is the perfect time to start planning menus for seasonal spreads that will wow family and friends."
