A CAR flew off the road and landed on top of a hedge after crashing.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a "serious" crash which left a man with suspected multiple leg fractures just outside Winchcombe.

A white scaffolding flatbed Iveco, driven by a 22-year-old man from the Malvern area, was travelling from Toddington towards Winchcombe when a red Kia hatchback being driven in the opposite direction by a 36 year-old-man from Cheltenham crossed the double white lines and hit the Iveco head on.

The Kia left the road and landed on top of a hedge and gate next to the road, trapping the driver inside.

Officers from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended the collision and extricated the driver of the Kia.

He was then taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by paramedics with suspected multiple leg fractures.

The passenger from the Iveco was taken to hospital with suspected fractured ribs.

The crash occurred shortly before 8.30am on Wednesday October 18, on the B4632 Broadway Road just outside of Winchcombe.
