AN optician has raised money by selling books and cakes in aid of Alzheimer's Society.
Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care in High Street, Chipping Norton marked Dementia Awareness Week last Thursday (May 18).
Branch manager Julie Dyer said: “It’s a cause we care about because dementia affects the lives of so many people in our community.”
The company is supporting Alzheimer’s Society as its chosen charity because of the growing evidence of a link between uncorrected hearing loss and dementia, including Alzheimer’s.
It has also invited local people to submit photographs of their ‘Memorable Moments’ for a charity calendar in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. More details are available in branch or online at www.scrivens.com/moments
