NOMINATIONS have now closed for people to represent the eight districts of the Cotswolds at the Gloucestershire County Council elections.

Paul Hodgkinson and Mark Mackenzie-Charrington will stand in Bourton on the Water and Northleach while Bella McMillan-Scott, Robert McNeil Wilson, Ailsa Spindler and Lyndon Stowe will stand in Campden-Vale.

Christopher Harlow, Joy Irving, Nigel Robbins and Stuart Tarr will stand in Cirencester-Beeches while Tony Curry, Joe Harris, Bob Irving, Terry Pomroy and Robert Stephens will stand in Cirencester Park.

Pete Brown, Andrew Doughty, Xanthe Messenger, Trevor Smith and Ray Theodoulou will stand for Fairford and Lechlale while Tatyan Cheung, Shaun Parsons and Margaret Rastelli will stand in South Cerney.

Rachel Coxcoon, Edeltraud French, Andrew Maclean and Nigel Moor will stand in Stow-on-the-Wold while in Tetbury the candidates will be Stephen Hirst, Guy Parfitt and Sabrina Poole.

The elections will be held on Thursday, May 4.

People who want to register to vote must send in their application by midnight on Thursday, April 13, while those who want to vote by post must have sent in their application by 5pm on Tuesday, April 18.

Anyone who wants to vote by proxy must have sent in their application by 5pm on Tuesday, April 25.

Residents who have already registered to vote should have received their poll cards through the post by now.
