A new partnership aiming to deliver savings for local authorities has been shortlisted for two awards.

The Environmental and Regulatory Services Group (ERS) partnership has been shortlisted for both the Efficiency and the Team of the Year categories in the Local Government Chronicle Awards.

The ERS group provides services such as environmental health, licensing and business support for Cotswold, West Oxfordshire and Forest of Dean District Councils.

Councillor Sue Coakley, cabinet member for environment at Cotswold District Council, said: “We’re delighted with the efficiency savings that ERS has achieved and the positive outcomes and tangible benefits of the service transformation.

"I am particularly pleased that customer satisfaction ratings have been well above average.”

Over the last two years, the group has already delivered annual savings of more than £845,000.

ERS operates across Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, working with the police, Local Enterprise Partnerships and the Growth Hub.

Nick Golding, editor of the Local Government Chronicle, said: "We have received record entries for our 2017 Awards showing councils are even more committed than before to innovating and sharing best practice.

"The LGC Awards will showcase and celebrate the tremendous work of council staff to help local communities in a period of uncertainty."

The awards ceremony takes place in London on Wednesday March 8
