A HEARTBROKEN mother is appealing for help to piece together her son's final moments.

Lee Cole's body was found in Hermit Street, Upper Gornal, at 8.30am on Monday, March 5.

Police are not treating the much-loved son, grandson, uncle and brother's death as suspicious and have referred the case to the coroner.

The 32-year-old had left his grandmother's house on the Russells Hall Estate at 5pm on Sunday, March 4.

He had caught a taxi and was believed to be heading home to the Lower Gornal home he shared with his mother, Sharon Marsh.

But tragically Lee, who was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, black zip-up hoodie and trainers, did not return home and the events leading up to his death are unknown - apart from a sighting at the Upper Gornal Arcade, Kent Street, between 6pm and 6.30pm.

A distraught Sharon said: "As a family, we are not only dealing with the grief of losing Lee, but the agony of not knowing what happened leading up to his death."

She has urged people living in the village with CCTV cameras outside their homes to check if they caught sight of Lee between 6pm on March 4 and 8am on March 5.

"It would help out family more than words can express in piecing together his whereabouts," she added.

"Any information, no matter how big or small could help with the investigation and answer some of our many questions.
