A CITY centre pub has re-opened under new management after customers were shocked by its closure on Monday.

The new manager of The Old Greyhound in New Street, Gokhan Yildrim said that "nothing has changed" with the pub and customers can expect it to continue as normal.

The pub was closed on Monday and re-opened on Tuesday.

The former managers of the pub claimed that landlord Marston's had ordered them to shut due to complaints about customers smoking in the seating area outside the pub, which is within Reindeer Court shopping centre, but Mr Yildrim said he did not know anything about this.

He said: "The pub is completely the same as it was before.

"On Monday, the pub was closed but on Tuesday it was open again, I don't know much more.

"I was told to come here and manage the pub.

"The only change is that it is open from 11am until late now, rather than 10am.

"The pub has re-opened but we have not been able to tell everybody."

Marston's have been approached for comment.
