A WOMAN admitted begging on the streets of Worcester when she appeared in court.
Nicole Hewitt, 33, who is currently serving a 10-week prison sentence for spitting at a police officer, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court via a video link on Thursday, February 23.
She admitted begging in Mealcheapen Street at 7pm on Friday January 27.
The court heard that Hewitt, of Tolladine Road in Worcester was caught when she asked an off-duty policeman for spare change.
She was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge.
Gary Harper, defending said: "When she was given a custodial sentence, she asked to serve a longer sentence.
"This shows that she realises she has a drug problem and hopes to sort it out whilst in custody."
