PUPILS at a Kidderminster school enjoyed dressing up and sampling a range of Indian foods and sweets as part of their studies.

The pupils at Holy Trinity School, in Birmingham Road, took part in the activities as part of their geography studies - comparing English school life with other non-European school's across the world.

Sarah Barraclough, year two class teacher, said: "As a class, we looked at religions practiced by people in India and across the world, and considered their different cultures and artworks, as well as dressing up and listening to Indian music and dancing."

As part of the children's cultural engagement day and virtual trip around the world, they studied cultural traditions, festivals and landmarks, and they had the opportunity to sample several Indian foods including savoury rolls, samosas, curry, rice, poppadoms, naan bread and Indian sweets in a variety of colours, textures and shapes.

Miss Barraclough added: "Our Indian day wouldn't have been the success it was without all the wonderful costumes and, of course, the sumptuous Indian foods for the children to sample.

"What a fantastic first-hand sensory and educational experience, brought to life right here in our Kidderminster classroom."
