TWO men were arrested and one has been charged after a burglary at a property in Rubery.

Just before 2pm on Monday, December 5, a vigilant neighbour spotted a man wearing a hoody, acting suspiciously near a house in Whetty Lane, so called the police.

In response to the call, officers rushed to the scene and arrested two men. The property stolen was also recovered.

Andrew Mark Weston, 31, of Maple Road, Rednal, was charged with theft and appeared at Redditch Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, December 7.

Weston received a 12-month community order and was ordered to pay £55 compensation, £100 court costs and a £25 victim surcharge.

A 36-year-old man, from Rednal, was arrested on suspicion of theft, but has been released on police bail until January.
