A CRIME prevention shop in Bewdley has been hailed a success by its organisers.

The Bewdley and Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team were joined by representatives from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service to offer crime prevention and safety advice to residents, workers and visitors to the town centre on Thursday (December 8) at Café 54, Bewdley Youth Cafe, in Load Street .

The shop was well received by residents and visitors, with more than 65 people heading along. Crime prevention leaflets were handed out as well as purse bells, purse cables, dusk-til-dawn light bulbs, safe cans, shed alarms and property marking pens.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue volunteers also signed visitors up for their free home safety inspection and smoke alarm checks.

PCSO Jennifer Bray said: "We are so glad people took the opportunity to visit us at the shop.

"We were able to provide lots of literature and advice as well as practical crime prevention products.

"It was wonderful to see the shop full and it was lovely to meet everyone today."
