BEWDLEY Museum has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for the second year running by travel experts, TripAdvisor.

The museum, in Load Street, has been described as a ‘hidden gem’ and a ‘little treasure in a beautiful town’ by visitors logging onto the travel website.

A Certificate of Excellence is awarded by TripAdvisor to attractions or businesses that consistently achieve outstanding reviews.

Bewdley Museum attracts more than 168,000 visitors a year from across the UK.

The museum has proved more popular year on year, with plenty on offer, including the resident craftspeople, a guided tour in the air raid shelter, events and activities.

Councillor Sally Chambers, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for health, well-being and housing, said: “Bewdley Museum offers fantastic value for your money and is a great day out for the whole family.

“The team at the museum are friendly and easy to deal and enjoy hearing feedback.”

Bewdley Museum is now open daily from 10am to 4pm, and entry is free.

The Friends of Bewdley Museum rely on donations to fund activities throughout the year.
