A CHRISTMAS jumper designed by a Pensnett supermarket worker is now on sale in stores across the country.

Rebecca Jones, who works at Sainsbury’s in Merry Hill, designed a jumper depicting a rapping Santa, wearing shades and gold jewellery.

Her design is one of eight picked from from hundreds of entries in a competition open to Sainsbury’s colleagues across the country.

The 30-year-old, who has been with the retailer for 11 years, said: “I’ve always been artistic so I thought I would have a go at the competition.

"I wanted to create something different that was fun and trendy.

"I was really pleased when I heard that my design was going to be made in time for this Christmas and it’s amazing to see my jumper produced and on sale in store."

Store manager, Andy Beardmore, added: “Christmas jumpers are becoming increasingly popular so we are sure it will go down a treat this year.

"It is great to think that it is not just being stocked in our store, but up and down the country too. I’m proud to have such a talented colleague in the team.”

The public now have the chance to decide which member of staff designed the best Christmas jumper on the Sainsbury’s TU clothing Facebook page.

If Becky is crowned the overall winner, she will win a trip to Lapland, which she said would be "a dream come true".
