PARENTS and toddlers are set to have a splashing time with a series of special lessons at Stourbridge's Crystal Leisure Centre.

Thecentre is holding the 30-minute swimming sessions with qualified instructors on Tuesdays at 9.45am and 10.15am and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2pm and 2.30pm.

The courses, which are for children aged from six months up to four years, help parents introduce their children to water in a fun and relaxed way.

Children learn basic water skills through nursery rhymes, games, use of toys and interaction with other toddlers.

Parents are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible on to one of the courses, which will run weekly until Christmas holidays - excluding half-term.

Councillor Rachel Harris, cabinet member for health, said: “These courses are a great way to introduce younger children to water in a safe and fun environment.

“There are swimming lessons for people of all ages and abilities at our centres and it’s never too late to learn.”

The cost of the full term, which commences on Monday (September 8) is £52.

A 50 per cent discount is available for Option+ card holders.
