A POPULAR country park in Worcester has been given a seal of approval by a charity working with green spaces around the country for the tenth year running.
Worcester Woods Country Park has again been handed a Green Flag award, which recognises well-maintained and managed green spaces.
The scheme is run by national charity Keep Britain Tidy and has also been awarded to St Wulstan’s Local Nature Reserve in Upper Welland as well as Waseley Hills Country Park near Bromsgrove.
Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for localism and communities Cllr Lucy Hodgson welcomed the award.
"Everyone involved at Green Flag award-winning sites and the thousands of people that visit them each year should be rightly proud of this achievement,” she said.
"We're lucky here in Worcestershire to have such beautiful countryside and to have the work of the team and volunteers recognised is fantastic.
“Having three parks amongst the best in the country is a real boost and we're as committed as ever to continuing to hit such high standards.”
