Hopes for 2012

SO another year has started and lots of people start to make New Year resolutions.

Whether it is to stop smoking, do more exercise or to see the family more, we all want to do something a bit different when a new year comes around.

So I thought I'd compile my own list, with an added wish list chucked in as well for good measure.

As Dermot O'Leary would say, in more particular order, they are...

To continue enjoying life

A bit of a standard one I know, but no matter what, as long as I'm happy and myself, my family, girlfriend and friends are all healthy, then that's all that I care about.

To save more money

In the current economic situation we're in, I know I have to start saving more.

So I'll try not to buy another drink when I'm out when I know I've already drunk too much, buy a shirt when I've got already got five that are similar or a or go to a Hereford away game when I know we'll get thrashed.

NB: Can't see that happening, but I'll try.

Do more exercise

I go to the gym when I can, but I know I need to do more, although going for a walk or a run in the current weather will prove to be very hard indeed.

Wishes for 2012

Hereford United to stay up

I don't matter if we stay up by the skin of our teeth, just stay up please!

And then my hope for the rest of the year is for the Bulls to be value for money by providing the fans with entertainment that they deserve.

Hereford's traffic problems to decrease

A very slim possibility I know, but I just hope that for once the city doesn't grind to a halt whenever there is just a two car bump.

My friends to continue to be the legends that they are

We all have friends that we love, but mine never cease to make me laugh.

No doubt 2012 will be another year full of humour.

England footballers to give something back to the country at Euro 2012

I'm not saying we're going to win it (because we won't) but it would be nice if the team performed to some sort of reasonable level at a major tournament.

Great Britain to perform well at the Olympics/Paralympics

We have got some great athletes and I just hope they perform to their potential, which would be fanstatic to see on home soil.

Quality gameshows to return to our TV screens

Ok, Play Your Cards Right is going to be revamped by you guessed it Vernon Kay, but I can't see it being the same.

Apart from Strictly Come Dancing, I can't think of a single show that all the family can watch (I'm not counting X Factor of Britain's Got Talent).

When I was growing up you had legendary shows, like Generation Game, Noel's House Party, Gladiators, Big Break, You Bet, Treasure Hunt, The Crystal Maze and The Kypton Factor, not to mention quiz shows like Fifteen to One and Going for Gold.

Why don't they make them like that anymore?

My blog continues to be widely read and that I offer people what they want

A bit smoochy I know, but I am truly grateful for all the feedback I've had since I started writing my blog three months ago and hope that you all like what you read.

Remember, you can like my Facebook page or follow my on Twitter (or both if you wish).

Here's to a great 2012!
