Motocross rider airlifted after accident at Llangrove in Herefordshire

A MOTOCROSS rider was airlifted to hospital after coming off his bike and ending up in a muddy stream in Herefordshire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a motocross event being held at a farm in Llangrove shortly before 11.45am yesterday.

A community paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended.

Chris Kowalik, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “The man who is in his fifties, had pains to his back and arms.

"He was placed onto a scoop stretcher and a neck collar was applied and he was given pain relief at the scene before being flown to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
