A Post Office has been given the stamp of approval at its unusual new home.

Villagers in Hoarwithy can now visit their local if they need to buy stamps as the part-time branch is in the New Harp Inn.

The original Post Office closed in November.

“I’m all for making life easier for local people so having the Post Office in the pub suits my customers and I hope it will go from strength to strength,” said Adrian Shaw, landlord and parish councillor.

• First-class stamps rose from 46p to 60p while second-class stamps went up from 36p to 50p on 30 April.
