A teenager from Ross-on-Wye has died after suffering a suspected asthma attack.

Lauren Hughes, aged 15, was taken to hospital over the weekend but died on Tuesday night.

Cards and flowers have been left around the silver birch tree at the entrance of John Kyrle High School where Lauren attended, and shocked friends have been gathering at the site to pay their respects.

Paying his tribute, school principal Nigel Griffiths described Lauren as a “personable, hugely popular” friend and classmate who was “a credit to herself, her family, the school and the wider community”.
