Serious accident near Ross-on-Wye

The Air Ambulance was called following a serious accident near Ross-on-Wye this afternoon.

One person was flown to hospital from the A40 at Pencraig after three vehicles were in collision.

Fire crews from Ross and Monmouth were called to the westbound lane at 1.30pm and helped to free the injured traveller.

Another person managed to free themselves before the fire service arrived.

The A40 was closed for a short while but the eastbound carriageway has re-opened.

The westbound lanes are still closed for investigation work.

Diversions have been put in place.
