YOUNGSTERS from a school near Ross-on-Wye that was severely affected by flooding from burst pipes resumed lessons this week after a local charity came to their rescue.
Weston-under-Penyard CE Primary School has been offered the use of rooms by the nearby Leadership Trust.
Headteacher Brian Bird said: “We have been given four classrooms and things have gone brilliantly so far.
“It is completely secure and the children have been allowed to play games outside in its training grounds.
“The local authority provided us with a building company so we were able to move things across quickly.
“It is a fantastic example of how the community can all work together.”
The cost of the damage to the school has been estimated at between £15,000 and £20,000 and it is due to be closed for at least another week.
