Couple must move out of Llangrove home

AN ELDERLY widow who has not spoke to her daughter and son-in-law for almost a decade has won the right to turn the ageing couple out of the farmhouse they share.

Eileen Cook, 92, occupies the south end of Tretawdy Farm, Llangrove, while her only child, Pauline, 60, and son-in-law Wyndham Thomas, 76, live at the other end.

But, since 2002, not even a polite word has passed between them and Mrs Cook has been battling to get her daughter and son-in-law out of the house.

And today she was granted her wish by Appeal Court judges.

How sad that someone of this age cares so little about her only daughter and the daughter cares so little about her mother, in other words "six of one and half a dozen of the other"
