FOREIGN languages enjoyed exam success at a Ross school with more than 90% of students passing GCSE Spanish.

Overall, 71% of students at John Kyrle High School gained five or more A*-C grades.

Top performers include Jake Colvin, who achieved 10 A*s and one A, Brittany Davies, who achieved nine A*s and three As and Amy Jackson, who gained eight A*s and three As.

Headteacher Nigel Griffiths said: “The school’s excellent performance needs to be seen within this context of students achieving in traditional subjects, which are considered more difficult."

As well as foreign languages, other subjects that scored highly were maths, technology and science.
