Ross meetings to speak to police

ROSS residents have taken up the chance to quiz South Herefordshire’s senior police officer.
At the Policing Matters in South Herefordshire meeting, members of the public questioned the Divisional Commander for Herefordshire, Mark Turner and Councillor Bernard Hunt, raising various issues about local policing.
As well as an overview of policing in the area, there were presentations on speed enforcement and automatic numberplate recognition.
Ch Supt Turner said: “This was our first opportunity to meet with the communities of South Herefordshire in a new format which allows an explanation of policing in the county as well as interaction with questions and suggestions from people attending.”
The new police officers in Ross and falling crime figures were also mentioned at the meeting.
The next event will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 7pm.
The venue will be confirmed nearer the time.
