ROSS-ON-WYE celebrated Shrove Tuesday in true style this week with its famous Pancake Day races in the town centre.
The competition supported by the town's mayor of Ross-on-Wye Councillor David Ravenscroft required contestants to show their skills for the 50-metre contest.
Winners of each race were awarded prizes in the market square and there was also a competition for best pinny.
Organiser Helen Kiddy, of Essential Sewing Services, said it was a very cold Shrove Tuesday but she was very grateful to everyone who supported the event and for all the good sports that made up teams at the last minute.
Money raised will be donated to the Association of Ross Traders to raise the profile of the town for visitors and traders.
