THE decision to cut the hours at Ross-on-Wye’s minor injuries unit (MIU) is set to go before Herefordshire Council’s health and social care scrutiny committee.
A public meeting has already been held in Ross for people to question members of Wye Valley NHS Trust (WVT) about why they want to close the MIU during evenings and weekends.
WVT chief executive Derek Smith also met Hereford and South Herefordshire MP Jesse Norman and admitted his “regret” at a lack of consultation about the trust’s decision.
The new meeting next month - at a date yet to be set - might go some way to addressing that problem.
