SUSTAINABILITY EVENTS - Transition Leominster is staging two events on the theme of sustainability. A crafts and skills event on September 22 features a range of ideas for making things from natural and recycled materials. The crafts include weaving, spinning, wooden spoon making, tool mending, rag rugs, crochet, and knitting. The event takes place from 10am-4pm at the community centre, School Road, Leominster.

Admission is free and light refreshments and lunches will be available. On September 25 a meeting on ‘creating local food awareness’ will discuss the creation of a local food map for Leominster with guidance from three guest speakers. Iain Plumtree and Fran Robinson helped produce food maps in other towns. Nick Sherwood represents REconomy which is working on a blueprint for a sustainable economy in Herefordshire. The meeting is at 7.30pm at Leominster community centre, School Road. Admission is free.
