A brave Hereford boy is facing another battle with cancer having already fought off two strains of the killer disease.

James Byard-Hunt is only eight but his family has hailed his “unbelievable strength” following his latest diagnosis.

Mum Caroline Byard-Hunt and husband Steve Hunt thought their son had beaten acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) after going into remission when he was four.

But a routine check-up this year revealed both had returned, leaving James in Birmingham Children’s Hospital receiving extensive chemotherapy and waiting for a suitable bone marrow match.

Should one be found he will undergo a transplant later this year. If not, he faces ongoing care at his Luston home.
