Two homes burgled in Leominster

TWO Leominster homes were burgled on Friday.

Food and £80 in cash was taken from a property in Caswell Road, while two mobile phones, a Nintendo Wii, 30 CDs, 40 DVDs and several items of clothing were all stolen from a home in John Abel Close.

Both burglaries happened between midnight and 8am and while the occupants were asleep.

“Although burglaries do remain rare in Herefordshire, many of the burglaries are committed by thieves who enter the house through an unlocked door or an open window,” said Detective Inspector Martyn Barnes.

“This means the reality is that most burglaries are carried out by opportunistic thieves, rather than ‘professional’ criminals, who are looking for the easiest way of getting into a house without being seen or disturbed.”
