Man arrested in Dilwyn over export of military equipment to Qatar

REVENUE investigators swooped on a village near Leominster this morning to arrest a man on suspicion of VAT fraud offences over the export of military equipment to the Middle East.

The man is currently being questioned under caution at an undisclosed police station in the county.

HM Revenue & Customs confirmed that the swoop was related to an on-going investigation into suspected VAT fraud offences of around £462,000, on the alleged purchase and sale of military equipment destined for export to Qatar.

The swoop saw a house searched and computers and business records seized along with banking documents.
