A Leominster woman has become only the second person to receive an award honouring those who have added to the wellbeing of town residents.
Pauline Wilkes said she was shocked to win the latest Leominster Civic Award having been nominated by more than 30 champions for her unwavering kindness.
Many of her supporters packed into the Leominster Town Council chamber to see the 63-year-old handed a framed certificate in recognition.
She said: “When I received the letter saying I had been awarded it I didn’t think it was for me.
“But it was very nice that people had taken the time to write in support of me.”
