THOSE behind a pioneering renewable energy project in Herefordshire have helped overturn a controversial Government plan to cut solar power incentives.
Leominster Solar, which set-up a community solar project using panels installed on the roof of the town’s Bridge Street sports centre, provided evidence to Friends of the Earth who were challenging a Government appeal which had come about after Whitehall chiefs were told in the High Court their plan was illegal.
The Herefordshire group was chosen having been thrown into disarray late last year when, during installation, ministers announced the Feed-In Tariff (FIT), used as an incentive, would be halved within six weeks.
