Woman burnt after coach battery explodes

A WOMAN was burnt after battery acid got in contact with her eyes and face yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a garage in Shobdon shortly before 2.20pm.

She was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital for further treatment.

Is was reported that her injuries were not life threatening.

Pete Butcher, police press officer, said that it is believed that a coach battery exploded and the garage owner has been asked to file a report to the Health and Safety Executive, as is standard procedure.
